STUART HALL

Stuart Hall, a leading figure of the British
left over the past thirty years and a visionary race theorist,
had made profound contributions to the field of cultural studies
at the Center for Contemporary Cultural Studies at Birmingham
University. His work has made possible multiple conversations
taking place around questions of culture, race and ethnicity.
A collection of Hall's essays and essays on Hall can be found
in "Stuart Hall: Critical Dialogues In Cultural Studies",edited
by Kuan-Hsing Chan and David Morley.
Hall is retired Professor
of Sociology at The Open University
